When we returned to the YWAM base, we went in immediately to our orientation for the "Homeless Plunge" activity. Much to our students surprise, the Homeless Plunge began tonight. What does that mean? It means we are going to do our best to understand what it's like to live the life of a homeless person.
Therefore, we're sleeping in our clothes tonight (that's right, the clothes we've been wearing all day long) and we're wearing them again tomorrow! Not only that, there's no deodorant, make up, perfume/cologne, etc. We will get up at 7 am to watch everyone else eat! We will then do our base Work Duties and then we'll head out to the streets until 4 pm. While on the streets, we'll visit places homeless people visit to receive help. We'll eat at a soup kitchen. We'll do a lot of walking and more!
Please pray for us! Some of our students worlds were rocked when they heard that there would be no showers tonight, no deodorant, no pajamas, NO NOTHING!
We'll let you know how it went!

WOW!!! Talk about getting out of your comfort zone.... that's really far out there!!! I'm praying that God really does a work in all our hearts...yours as you serve the homeless and mine as I listen to the testimonies from the students and see how GOD revealed himself to them!

Hello Michael and company - we are praying for each of you by name. The pictures are wonderful and have given me an opportunity to talk about what our youth group is doing in San Francisco. May God bless each of you and each of those you come in contact with.
God Bless - The Kellers
Michael, you are getting to bed waaayyy too late. Way past your curfew!
I think the homeless day will be harder on the girls than the boys!
Did you get to brush your teeth?
Hi gain - Praying for you right now as I'm looking through the pics. What beautiful, happy faces! Our God must be smiling Himself at what you are accomplishing for Him.

Hello Everyone,
I'm enjoying keeping connected through the blog. It helps me to better pray for you all.
Remember to commit all that you do to the Lord. He says, "apart from Me you can do nothing" Jn 15.
Yesterday I read a quote from Charles Finney. He says, "Unless I had the sprit of prayer I could do nothing...I found myself unable to preach with power and efficiency, or to win souls...".
I challenge you to be obedient to 1 Thess. 5:16-18, "Be joyful always; pray continually (even as you're sharing with people); give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
Praying that God would be glorified in and through all of you, and praying for much more than that.
By grace alone,
Ellen
PS: Bob should consider a second career as a photographer, some of those photos are quite artistic!
