IGNITE is headed to the beautiful Green Mountains of VT this summer to partner with YouthWorks for our 2009 summer mission trip.
YouthWorks…purpose is to provide life-changing, Christ centered youth mission opportunities that cross borders of race and culture. YouthWorks provide ministry experiences that vary from painting and rehabilitation projects, facilitating a Kids Club, to partnering with local organizations who are working to meet community needs.
Ministry: While in Rutland,our students will spend two days working with children and two days serving local ministries and programs that seek to address the very basic needs of residents. Kid’s Club — A hands-on program, led by our IGNITE students, offering high-energy games, crafts, skits, songs and interactive lessons all designed to help kids learn about Jesus. Local Ministries — We might be at a specific site both days or partner with different organizations on a rotational basis. Our group may serve places like homeless shelters, soup kitchens, thrift stores, elderly centers and children’s programs. Because wonderful things happen when students from different groups serve together, our group will be mixed with students from other groups for the week.
Evening Activities...are designed to give our students insight into the lives of local residents and the culture of the area. YouthWorks will try to arrange for free evening activities, but an additional cost may be required. Please plan to bring an additional $10 to cover any extra costs. A list of activities YouthWorks have done in the past include: Go to the Green Mountain Rock Climbing Gym, Take a hike in the Green Mountains, Community Cookout and more.

Who can go? Entering 8th grade in fall 2009 through current 12th grade students
How much? $275 (if $50 deposit is turned in by Jan. 11 — $285 after January 11)
Transportation: 15 passenger vans
Itinerary: Leave CCF approximately 1 pm on Sunday, July 12. Return Friday, July 17 approximately 2 pm. Extra money required for lunch on the way home from YouthWorks.
